A sign in a nearby window declared that pigs are for sale, too.<\/p>\n<p>Two good books that explain more and better are <strong>Colin Woodward\u2019s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0143035347?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=therosbooblo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0143035347\">The Lobster Coast: Rebels, Rusticators, and the Struggle for a Forgotten Frontier<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: medium none  ! important; margin: 0px ! important\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=therosbooblo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0143035347\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/><\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em>and <strong>Linda Greenlaw\u2019s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0786885912?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=therosbooblo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0786885912\">Lobster Chronicles: The Life on a Very Small Island<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: medium none  ! important; margin: 0px ! important\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=therosbooblo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0786885912\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/><\/em><\/strong>.  Ms. Greenlaw\u2019s book is about Isle Au Haut (Remember Gordon Bok\u2019s song, \u201cThe Hills of Isle Au Haut?\u201d), but Coastal small town life and lobsters is more like Tenants Harbor than different.  Mr. Woodward\u2019s book doesn\u2019t mention Tenants Harbor on map, in text or index, but he has a good bibliography and discusses at length Monhegan, which is close via Port Clyde, and where, with Tenants Harbor, Jamie Wyeth lives.<\/p>\n<p>Hunger and lobster attitude (&#8220;I only eat Maine lobster, preferably bought from the lobsterman&#8221;) sent the guilty down the road.  Art&#8217;s Lobsters (the name may have changed) does not sell retail.  Witham&#8217;s does. Inaugural lobster use of pot by excellent first-time lobster cooker.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A little wary? <strong> Marjorie Standish\u2019s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0892724234?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=therosbooblo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0892724234\">Seafood: Down East Recipes<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: medium none  ! important; margin: 0px ! important\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=therosbooblo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0892724234\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/><\/em><\/strong> may be helpful.
