She agreed and also agreed to the 17 syllables of haiku \u2013 I think to control my rambling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>ZOO TRIP ALPHABET\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in haiku<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> [with personal asides in italics]<\/span><\/i><b>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>A is for ANTELOPES, pictured,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> not grazing with zebras, giraffes, and?\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First \u201clettered\u201d animal I did not see.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><b>B is for BARNS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with tall doors for proud giraffes or raised cherry-pickers.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I think.\u00a0 Nothing actually happened.\u00a0 Handsome structure, though.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><b>B is for BUS RIDES<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; &#8211; easy and fun, if curb cuts and sidewalks are near.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And no fentanyl fumes! First trip [so to speak] on a city bus.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>C is for<\/b> <b>CIRCLES<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with confused multitaskers coming and going.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>D is for DIETING, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which the TAPIR and RHINOS might want to try.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>E is for EATING<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which many style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 many, mostly hidden, but comfortingly real.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>G is for GAZELLE, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">antelope kin, big toothpick horns, and third grazer.\u00a0 \u00a0.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>G is for GIRAFFE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, nibbling high leaves, and leaving low leaves\u00a0 for shorties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>H is for\u00a0 HALLELUJAH DAYS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">questions raised and fresh air basked in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>H is for HIDING<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> animals, which I would be, too, if I lived here.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>I is for IBEX:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> long curved horns, antelope kin, not third grazer, ARGHH!. .\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Second \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am a prairie person, breathing best with a big style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which we only once were.\u00a0 Tough herding oldies and cats.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <em>\u00a0Too many viewng\u00a0<\/em><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u00a0circles<\/em> with people-hiding foliage, off the black-topped path.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><b>M is for the MANY OF US<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who had a very good time.\u00a0 Yay day!\u00a0<\/span><b>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>N is for NONSENSE: <\/b>questions and\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">comments that make everything more fun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>O is for OBSERVERS: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">oldies-but-goodies, and kids, lots of k ids.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And mothers with space-eating strollers, talking over my head.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>O is for ORANGUTANS, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who live, play and wear a blue shirt in trees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>P is for PYTHON, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">thankfully in fogged-up cage, so I couldn\u2019t see.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Third \u201clettered\u201d animal I did not see.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with see-through cutouts at chair height.\u00a0 Enlightened design<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>R is for RHINOCEROS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0 like submerged rocks in the waterhole.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>S is for the \u201cSCREW\u201d TREE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 Is it topiary art or Mother Nature\u2019s sense of humor?\u00a0
