I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s better for the book be an anticipatory read, a withdrawal read, or a reminder that &#8220;away&#8221; places of the heart exist, even in the midst of Minnesota snowstorms.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/roseledgebooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/img_1814.JPG\" title=\"img_1814.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox[64]\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/roseledgebooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/img_1814.JPG\" alt=\"img_1814.JPG\" height=\"361\" width=\"484\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fig. #12.  A Maine book needs the big picture. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kathy mentioned that author Julia Spencer-Fleming lives in ME, but the stories with a female Episcopalian priest detective take place in upstate NY. (She\u2019s also won a lot of mystery writer awards and has a blurb from Lee Child, both pluses.)  Definitely worth a try.<br \/>\n<strong> Spencer-Fleming, Julia.  <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0312933983?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=therosbooblo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0312933983\">All Mortal Flesh<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=therosbooblo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0312933983\" style=\"border: medium none  ! important; margin: 0px ! important\" border=\"0\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" \/>.<\/em>  St. Martin\u2019s Press, 2006<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am not extending the lives-in-Maine criterion to Nicholson Baker who has a new book out about WW II drawn from stories in his rescued newspapers and, I think I read, now lives in South Berwick, ME, even if South Berwick was the home of Sarah Orne Jewett who surely set her classic novella, <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/156792140X?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=therosbooblo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=156792140X\">The Country of the Pointed Firs<\/a><\/strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=therosbooblo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=156792140X\" style=\"border: medium none  ! important; margin: 0px ! important\" border=\"0\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=therosbooblo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=1593082622\" style=\"border: medium none  ! important; margin: 0px ! important\" border=\"0\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" \/><\/em>in Tenants Harbor.<\/p>\n<p>My niece is reading a Dennis Lehane mystery that mentions Maine, which is good, but she didn\u2019t include the title. NY: Pocket Star Books, 2007<\/strong><br \/>\nI know from the NYTimes Bestseller List that a Maine PI is the series character, and I\u2019m guessing that the mystery is mostly set in ME, even though author John Connolly lives in Dublin, Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Tim sent me the <strong><em>2007 Annual Report of the Town of St. George, Maine,<\/em><\/strong> the Mainest book I know, and it is the perfect reminder of names, deaths, and taxes paid and that soon I\u2019ll be back in Tenants Harbor for the summer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/roseledgebooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/img_0546.JPG\" title=\"img_0546.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox[64]\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/roseledgebooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/img_0546.JPG\" alt=\"img_0546.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\" id=\"file-link-55\" title=\"img_0546.JPG\" class=\"file-link image\"> \t\t\t <\/a><strong>Fig. #14.
